Young should have been given a say
Dear Sir,
Your leading article in last week's Chronicle on mental health services in East Cheshire for young people highlights an increasingly obvious problem.
Your readers will remember that the Government refused to include 16 & 17 year olds in the franchise for our recent referendum
It is possible that if they had been included the result might have been different.
Young people generally get a raw deal and should have been given a say in this important decision.
It is their future and for them not to be included is a travesty of common justice.
The Liberal Democrats campaigned for improved mental health services for young people while in coalition and will continue to do so.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Peter Hirst
