Turn few moments of angst into action
Dear Sir,
The online survey consultation on the Cheshire East pre-budget proposals has now closed for comments but you can still make your thoughts and suggestions known by speaking to or emailing your Cheshire East councillors up until 22nd February.
You can also attend the Cheshire East Council meeting on 22nd February.
I know there are many, like me, who are particularly concerned about the potential closure of Mountview Day Care for the elderly and about other cuts and changes that affect the most vulnerable at a time when we are meant to be spending more on adult social care.
We see regular letters to the Chronicle on these topics and we express our frustration, but those contributions do not make it formally into any consultation or feedback process.
To make our voices heard we've got to turn those same few minutes of angst or outrage into a meaningful response to the online consultations or in a letter, email or phone call to a councillor (whose contact details are all on the Cheshire East Council website).
The Chronicle could help empower its readers by having a regular information panel showing which consultations are currently running, key dates and how best to have an input.
It would be a great public service and prompt people to make sure their voice is heard.
For maximum impact you can also join the Digital Infl uence Panel and be notifi ed by email when consultations are live! - Yours faithfully,
SUZY FIRKIN
Congleton.
