Putting the stethoscope on the Congleton Health Service

There have been many arguments recently in Parliament and elsewhere about whether the National Health Service has enough funds to provide the vital services we all need. The Government say things are OK - whilst the Opposition and many non-political bodies, such as the Red Cross, claim that the picture is dire.

Two key members of the local Lib Dem team - Dr Peter Hirst, a retired hospital doctor and Denis Murphy, a member of the patients' committee at a local GP surgery - want to know what Congleton residents think of the local health facilities.

They can then talk to Lib Dem MPs and Councillors - and campaign for extra resources, if it's apparent that there are any pressing needs.
