Over-population and climate change
Dear Sir,
Concerning your open debate on P31 by Margaret Brown in last week's Chronicle, she paints a rather gloomy picture of the consequences of climate change.
It is true that we are doing too little too late and can expect to reap the consequences, but all is not lost.
There is still time to avert the worst results if we tackle the root causes vigorously.
One of these is the overpopulation of our planet with our species.
This is driving out other magnificent animals, birds and plants and so reducing it to a mono-crop that farmers will agree is not a good thing.
If every baby was wanted and planned and everybody who wanted to could practice safe sex, we could avoid most of the mishaps that she so vividly portrays. - Yours faithfully,
