Only car owners will buy houses

Dear Sir,

I see that the planning proposal for Somerford Green includes housing beyond the proposed link road.

This introduces a precedent that is potentially very harmful to the whole area.

Though the housing is technically outside Congleton, the occupiers of this estate will have children who will attend its schools.

They will have to travel there for this and other reasons even if they work outside the town.

It seems that only people with cars will be able to purchase these homes, making any social housing a joke.

There is be ample land within the link road and to the north and west of the town without having to build in other areas.
