Not all services are available online
Dear Sir,
While appreciating the useful information contained within The Voice autumn 2018 edition, I would like to mention some defects from my perspective in Cheshire East's services to add some balance.
The fi rst is that although the borough's website allows constituents to access a wide variety of services and report issues, it is a different matter when you need to speak or meet someone.
Too many points of contact are focused on Crewe and Macclesfi eld, making it challenging for residents from other parts of the borough to voice concerns or access services not easily available online.
I suggest that Cheshire East members of staff spend more time visiting focal points in the borough, such as Congleton, routinely and that these visits are widely advertised so that the need to travel often by public transport to the two main centres is reduced.
The council could also consider investing more in public access water points so that in their desire to reduce single plastic use, busy people don't need to purchase fl uid in single use containers.
One other issue is providing more public electric vehicle charging points that will be greatly appreciated by those using, or considering using, electric vehicles and not having readily available suitable access in their homes.
Yours faithfully,
(DR) PETER HIRST
