New homes benefit communities

Dear Sir,

I note that neighbourhood plans are again being discussed in your Paper.

Developers are obviously aghast that with victory over The Local Plan, the local variety is beginning to restrict their freedom to build.

When will they realise that building houses is not for their profit and is to produce stronger communities and realise the necessary numbers of new dwellings.

If there is not sufficient suitable land in Cheshire East, then these houses will need to be built outside it.

The priority is to ensure that new developments enhance the quality of life of existing and new residents and improve environmental, social and material wellbeing.

Building houses because it is possible is like prolonging life at all costs, something that benefits only those profiting financially.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Peter Hirst
