Less haste, few mistakes?
Dear Sir,
While respecting Coun Sam Corcoran's knowledge of his local community and desire to see public money is correctly spent and accounted for, it seems he is becoming slightly careless with his words.
In last week's Chronicle's letter pages, page 35, he goes on about some white lines on Parkhouse Drive in Sandbach, which he feels are unnecessary or even misleading.
the white lines came about was through the Cheshire East minor highways works, a group of about a dozen Congleton constituency councillors who meet two or three times a year for 2-3 hours to discuss how to spend a pot of about £40,000 for small highways works."
I can only assume that he means Cheshire East constituency councillors, as the area he refers to is in Sandbach, not Congleton. This being a highways issue, there are only six Congleton councillors and why should Congleton town councillors be deciding about issues in Sandbach?
When one writes as many letters as Sam (and I) do, mistakes inevitably do occur, although I ing writing them to be an easy way of rectifying most of them.
Of course, the "mistake" could have been deliberate in this posttruth era, so as to avoid giving the impression of criticising any of his own party's councillors that might sit on this body. - Yours faithfully,
