Hoping Council has learnt lessons

Dear Sir,

I write concerning the net loss of £1.6 associated with the winding up of CoSocius, reported in last week's Chronicle.

This is a colossal amount of money considering the short period for which the company was in operation.

Obviously, it is to be applauded that the councils involved realised their error and limited future losses.

However, was a proper risk assessment made at the time of the venture?

I do hope that lessons are learned and future misguided similar projects are curtailed.

I do feel that this, though a joint venture is a result of the prevailing culture at Cheshire East that rewards misguided pro-active actions.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Peter Hirst
