Give and take will be needed to unite

Dear Sir, - Theresa May talks a lot about the country uniting to obtain the best possible deal from Brexit.

To do this she fi rst needs to deal with some of the pressing social issues thrown up by the referendum and its result.

We can assume that the days of free movement of people are dead and we need something to replace it.

We still need migrants to fi ll our jobs vacancies and contribute to our culture and vibrancy.

We can enjoy both a diverse culture and shared common values such as fairness, respect and tolerance.

It will need, however, some give and take, something that is missing from the sound bites emanating from senior politicians. - Yours faithfully,
