Fools rush in where wise men fail to tread
Dear Sir,
It is said that you can lead a horse to water though not force him (or her) to drink.
If the water is poisoned, we have a wise horse grateful for its free will.
The same can be said of Brexit.
One of the reasons for the long time it is taking to leave might be that the people concerned in negotiating on our behalf are not convinced of its merits.
Though we live in a representative democracy, we have people not robots to represent our views.
If they, who just might know more about the negotiations than some of your letter writers, are uncertain that we are on the right path perhaps we should respect that.
It is also said that fools rush in where wise men fear to tread.
Yours faithfully,
(DR) PETER HIRST
Middlewich.
