Council pays scant regard to town

Your first letters' page of last week's Chronicle contained three letters criticising, with good reason, Cheshire East's treatment of Congleton.

The first is about the failure of Congleton museum to be transferred to Bradshaw House, something that I thought was a done deal, though requiring some considerable fundraising.

The second is about a farmer being evicted from his tenancy when he is making a success of his livelihood, and some would say has right of tenure because of its length.

The final one is about wasted resources when repairing potholes in the town because bureaucracy seems to trump logistics.

While each will probably have a good reason, we have no idea what it is and are left with the feeling that Cheshire East pays scant regard for Congleton and its people, prioritising instead towns such as Macclesfield

If the Conservatives ruling Cheshire East want to have any councillors left after next year's local elections, I suggest they start giving Congleton the priority it deserves.
