Council magazines clash with election
Dear Sir,
I note the article in the Chronicle on the Cheshire East's The Voice publication.
There has also been a recent copy of Congleton's Bear Facts newsletter distributed.
While not suggesting that these are promotional, it seems unfortunate that both are being read at the time of an important by-election in the town.
I realise that these publications are on a time scale that is planned a long time in advance.
They might however be con-strued as political as at least one mentions the composition of the relevant council and the vacancy causing the election.
For this to happen during the election period is perhaps something that the Electoral Services Department of Cheshire East might want to look at.
Yours faithfully,
DR PETER HIRST
Middlewich.
