clear facts
Dear Sir,
Those who chose to use my letter about a further referendum to write their own in last week's Guardian seem to assume that any result is more important than getting it right.
In a matter of such important and far reaching results, surely it is essential the electorate get it right even if this means another referendum.
This becomes easier once our destination becomes clearer and devoid of the political interference that marred last June's.
In their haste to leave the EU, those who campaigned for it are oblivious of the possible results on our children and grand-children.
I trust the British people to vote for the best interests of this country once the facts are clearer and without the emotional dribble and untruth that was evident during the referendum process last year.
I am happy to accept their verdict once I am convinced that they understand the likely long-term implications in an increasingly uncertain and dangerous world.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Peter Hirst
